The Two Biggest Things Misunderstood About Vinyl Liner Pools:
"I don't want a vinyl liner pool because...
I want a pool with a nice shape to it. I don't want a simple rectangle pool."
Back, years ago, the technology used in manufacturing vinyl liners limited what the manufacturers could do with the vinyl. It was difficult and expensive to take vinyl and make a pool liner that was anything other than rectangle, oval, round or kidney shaped. Also, the technology made it that vinyl liners only lasted 8 - 12 years.
Now-a-days, the technology used makes our manufactures able to design a vinyl liner in almost any shape. They also can do it for less of a cost than back in the day, and vinyl liners have never been stronger than they are now.
You don't have to go the expensive gunite or risky fiberglass routes to have a beautiful, shaped pool that will last for years!

I don't want to have to go through an expensive and troublesome liner change."
We understand these concerns, but we must say, like stated above, vinyl liners have never been stronger than they are today. This means they last a lot longer than they used to. And they're less expensive as they have been in the past.
An Inground "virgin vinyl" liner made today in a 20 mil or higher (like the ones we sell,) are designed to last, at least, 15 - 20 years. When a liner needs to be replaced today, the average cost with everything (the liner, the tax, the labor, new water and discarding of the old liner) will cost a homeowner around $3,800 - $4,200. If you divide a $4,200 cost by a liner lasting only 15 years, it comes to $280 a year for vinyl.
A gunite pool is, off the bat, a lot more expensive to build, and then you still have to re-surface the pool every 7 - 10 years or acid wash it or re-paint it. As far as the re-surfacing goes, when this needs to be done, the pool still needs to be drained, and the cost starts at $4,000. It can even go up to $8,000, which is rare in our area, but it is possible. If you divide the starting cost of $4,000 by having to re-surface your gunite pool after the longer 10 years, it comes to $400 a year for gunite.
As far as fiberglass pools go, these pools are also expensive off the bat, and though you wont have to change a liner or re-surface a finish, fiberglass pool owners are taking a big risk when living in a climate that has winters like the kind we have here in New England! If the pool is not winterized exactly as directed by their fiberglass company, the pool could lift right up out of the ground, leaving the homeowner with a bill of up to $10,000. This can even happen if the homeowner winterizes the pool properly. Just remember this, "winter damage" IS NOT covered in a fiberglass pool's lifetime warranty. Take this as you will: fiberglass pools were made for a different climite than ours, but people buy them here, and this is why they sell them here.

It makes the entire process easier for you, when the company you purchase from is the same company that builds your pool as well. If you have a question or a concern, you just call us!
