(Section 1 of 3) Our One-Visit Opening Service Includes:
1: Removal of light to moderate amount of water, leaves and debris from the top of the winter cover. All leaves and debris will be left by the side of the pool for the homeowner to discard of, because our personnel cannot haul away leaves and debris. If there are heavy amounts of water, leaves or debris on top of the winter cover, the homeowner MUST remove this PRIOR to Opening Personnel arriving to open the pool. (If heavy amounts of water, leaves or debris are on the pool cover at the time of opening, the pool may not be able to be opened by our personnel and a reasonable return trip charge may be added. Additional labor charge may be added for our personnel to remove heavy amounts of water, leaves or debris from a winter cover at the time of opening.)
2: Removal of winter cover and any air pillows or water bags. (Our personnel will do their absolute best to keep from any water, leaves or debris escaping out of the cover and entering the pool, while they’re taking off the cover, however, at rare times, water, leaves or debris will enter the pool.)
3: Cleaning off the cover with a non-toxic cover cleaner and then folding / rolling it up. If homeowner is present at the time of the opening, we will put the cover in a desired location. If homeowner is not present, we will leave the clean and folded / rolled cover near the pool. Please Note: The cover will be wet for hours after cleaning.
4: Fully prepare pool for operation, which includes the removal of any winter skimmer plates, gizmos, and return jet plugs, re-installation of the homeowner’s return jets and/or any wall suctions, re-installation of the homeowner’s filtration system hoses, the filtration system with pump. Re-installation of any drain plugs, any chlorinators, mineral sanitizers or salt systems and any heaters. Re-installation of any of the homeowner’s ladders, “drop-in” steps (but not the step’s sand bags, bricks, etc.), handrails. (If a diving board is present, our personnel may or may not be able to reinstall this.) If ANY items are unable to be found during our One-Visit Opening Service, these items will be unable to be installed and a separate service call may need to be performed at the homeowner’s expense. If ANY items are unable to be installed correctly, due to broken parts or missing parts, these items will not be able to be installed correctly and a separate service call may need to be preformed at the homeowner’s expense.
5: Start-up of pool equipment and perform plumbing and equipment check and leak inspections. Our check and leak inspections serve two purposes. #1) to ensure all hose, pipes, unions, valves, clamps, drain plugs, ect. that our personnel has reinstalled are no longer in need of adjustment. #2) to ensure all plumbing and equipment are free from needing repairs. Please note that if water level is not up to proper level at the time of opening or if there is no power available to turn on filtration system, plumbing and equipment check and leak inspections will not be able to be performed. If we are unable to perform our inspections due to low water or no power and anything is found to be leaking or not working properly after the time of opening, the homeowner will be responsible for any return trip to correct these issues. During or after the time of opening, if anything is found to be in need of repair or replacement, any cost of parts needed or any additional labor needed to repair or replace will be at the responsibility of the homeowner. (We are unable to perform leak inspections for any plumbing under the ground.)
6: Addition of opening pool chemicals. Chlorine, Bromine and Salt pools include an initial dose of Algaecide, up to 6 lbs. of Shock. Baquacil pools – Initial Sanitizer, Shock, and Algaecide. All pools up to 10lbs of Alkalinity & Calcium IF water is up to running level. (If water level is not up to proper level at the time of opening, our personnel will leave the included chemicals (except the Alkalinity & Calcium) for the homeowner to add once the water level is up and filtration system is able to be turned on. (PLEASE NOTE: If the water level in the pool is NOT up to a level where the filter can be turned on while our personnel is on site, the customer forfeits the Alkalinity & Calcium chemicals that would be added IF the water level was up to level. We are unable to leave these chemicals at the house nor are we able to give them to the customer for free at our store. Our suggestion is to have your water level up to mid-skimmer when your pool opening personnel arrive at your home so you can get these chemicals for free!)
If your pool is cloudy or green or contains leaves or debris at the time of opening, your pool water will most likely NOT clear up after our visit. It is the homeowner’s responsibility to take the proper steps to remove all leaves and debris and to clear the pool water. We recommend bringing in a sample of your pool water to our store or your local pool store to learn of the next steps to take.
